La Fundación Astor Piazzolla y el Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (Incaa) firmaron un documento moderado por las autoridades de la municipalidad de General Pueyrredon. A partir de la 35ta. edición del Festival Internacional de Mar del Plata, que se desarrollará en forma virtual del 21 al 29 de noviembre, los premios se denominaran Astor Piazzolla.
El cambio en la decisión, y con una leve modificación en cuanto al premio original; se fundamenta en la certeza de que su trascendencia es y debe ser universal. Que este premio lleve su nombre y apellido, vastamente reconocido en todo el mundo, es un justo homenaje a su obra enorme y a su inigualable trayectoria“, informó este martes 3 de noviembre el Incaa.
El acuerdo pone fin a una controversia abierta cuando la Fundación Piazzolla hizo saber sus quejas por la aparente intención del Incaa de modificar la denominación que llevan desde 2006 los reconocimientos a los ganadores del único festival de cine clase A que tiene la Argentina, encabezados por el Astor de Oro.
El Premio Astor Piazzolla consistirá en un bandoneón interpretado por otro grande, el orfebre Juan Carlos Pallarols.
