Darán de baja ‘Amigos cerca’ de Facebook

La plataforma de Meta está a punto de desactivar varias funciones basadas en la ubicación, incluidos los “amigos cercanos” de Facebook. Estas funciones desaparecerán el 31 de mayo y todos los datos asociados con estas funciones se eliminarán de los servidores de Facebook el 1 de agosto.

Amigos cerca’ es un servicio opcional, lanzado en 2014, que sirve para recibir notificaciones cuando los contactos de un usuario se encuentran cerca mediante la realización de un seguimiento de su ubicación.

Según ha podido comprobar el sitio 9toMac, los usuarios han comenzado a recibir notificaciones de Facebook que aseguran que se suspenderá la función ‘Amigos cerca’ el próximo 31 de mayo para iOS y Android en las que se detalla que esta herramienta dejará de funcionar el próximo 31 de mayo.

De esta manera,Facebook está alertando a los usuarios a través de correos electrónicos y notificaciones de noticias que los amigos cercanos, junto con las alertas meteorológicas, el historial de ubicaciones y la ubicación en segundo plano se suspenderán a partir del 31 de mayo de 2022.

Así lo comunicó la empresa: Debido a que anteriormente usó Amigos cercanos, Alertas meteorológicas, Historial de ubicaciones o Ubicación de fondo, le informamos que estos productos y funciones ya no estarán disponibles después del 31 de mayo de 2022. La información que compartió que se usó para estas experiencias, incluido el historial de ubicaciones y la ubicación de fondo, dejarán de recopilarse después del 31 de mayo de 2022, incluso si los ha habilitado previamente.
