Estrenada en 1999, ‘Livin la vida loca’ fue uno de los temas más sonados y emblemáticos del inicio del nuevo milenio y, a partir de ahora, la icónica canción de Ricky Martin es un patrimonio para la posteridad.
La Biblioteca del Congreso de Estados Unidos incorporó este año a su Registro Nacional de Grabaciones, que existe desde el 2000, el tema del puertorriqueño en su lista de 25 grabaciones que consideran deben trascender en la historia, pues este registro tiene la finalidad de promover los esfuerzos de conservación de los “sonidos de la historia”.
No importa cuántos años pasen, la reacción de todos al escuchar Livin’ la Vida Loca sigue siendo la misma de hace 23 años atrás cuando la lanzamos. Es una canción muy poderosa que representa la fusión del pop latino, dijo Ricky en declaraciones para el ciclo ‘El nuevo día’.
El cantante de 50 años añadió que es un honor ser parte de esta canción que tiene en la historia de la música una página muy importante, ya que fue parte del primer disco grabado en su totalidad de manera digital y de mi primera producción completamente en inglés. Sin duda es un tema para la historia y me siento muy honrado de que sea reconocido.
