Alberto Fernández destacó la labor de los científicos

El Presidente expresó que “las sociedades ricas no son las que tienen petróleo, plata u oro” sino “las que poseen conocimiento”.

Buenos Aires.- El presidente Alberto Fernández dijo que el Gobierno nacional “busca poner el valor a los científicos del país”, porque “las sociedades ricas no son las que tienen petróleo, plata u oro” sino “las que poseen conocimiento”.

“Para ser una sociedad que avanza necesitamos promover el conocimiento, el desarrollo científico y tecnológico”, con “un Estado presente”, señaló el presidente al encabezar este mediodía en el Salón Blanco de la Casa Rosada la entrega de la distinción al Investigador de la Nación Argentina 2021 y los premios Houssay, Houssay Trayectoria y Jorge Sábato.

El jefe de Estado destacó su propósito de “seguir haciendo de la Argentina un centro de desarrollo científico y tecnológico como el país puede ser, porque la materia prima de la ciencia y la tecnología, son los hombres y las mujeres educadas, y eso nos sobra”.

El Presidente recordó que “alguna generación pensó que la Argentina estaba destinada solo a ser el granero del mundo y solo se preocupó de producir materias primas y postergó por muchos años el desarrollo científico y tecnológico”.

“En el medio pasaron cosas que permitieron que por ejemplo, se desarrollara la industria nacional, entre los años 1945 y 1955, y que después algunos promovieron ese desarrollo buscando por ejemplo, la autonomía en materia petrolera. Pero volvieron algunos años en los que otros que creyeron que la Argentina estaba destinada a ser simplemente el granero del mundo”, fundamentó Fernández.

El mandatario indicó que “hubo otros que dijeron que no somos el granero sino el supermercado del mundo y otra vez postergaron el desarrollo científico y tecnológico” en alusión al gobierno del expresidente Mauricio Macri.

Por su parte, el ministro de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, Daniel Filmus expresó que “los científicos en la Argentina fundamentalmente han desarrollado un esfuerzo especial para permanecer y ser científicos en el país”.

“Debe haber dos categorías, los científicos de casi todo el mundo y los de Argentina, porque son del mejor nivel, pero han tenido que atravesar a lo largo de la historia unas políticas pendulares que no nos han permitido estabilizar las políticas de Estado a mediano y largo plazo” para el sector.

Por último, Filmus lamentó además la acción de “las dictaduras” militares y “el oscurantismo y la persecución que sufrió la ciencia esos períodos”.
