Una ballena jorobada de 7 metros de longitud fue hallada sin vida este jueves por la mañana en la zona de playas del faro. Al parecer, el cetáceo no presenta lesiones exteriores. Los primeros indicios permiten creer la posibilidad de que falleciera por causas naturales dentro del agua y fuera arrastrado por el oleaje hasta la orilla.
Rodrigo Goncálvez, titular de Defensa Civil, señaló que se realizarán las tareas mecánicas para retirar de la playa al ejemplar junto al personal de Guardaparques y de otras instituciones ligadas a la fauna marina que también ofrecieron su colaboración.
Hace tres años sucedió algo similar pero en la zona de Punta Mogotes, lo que derivó en un mega operativo pero no con buenos resultados debido a que no lograron salvar la vida del animal.
